Four canine teams were deployed to assist in the search
for a man on July 2-3, 2012. The victim was found on July

a 20 yr. old man on August 2, 2012. The victim has not been
found at this time.
Search
at Thompson Park: Two live-find dogs were deployed
to assist in the search for a woman in 2011. The woman was
found alive by one of the unit dogs.
Search at Delaware Water Gap:
One live-find and one cadaver dog were deployed to assist
in the search for a distraught man in Pennsylvania. The man
was found by a ground team.
Search at Old Bridge, NJ:
Three live-find dogs were deployed to assist in the search
of a missing teen. The search was called in the evening. The
victim was recovered several days later.

NJRRK9 Unit's cadaver team and two support personnel
were part of a K9 deployment at IBSP in July 2009 to assist
in the search for a missing elderly woman.

Crime Scene Seminar
with FBI
NJRRK9 Unit hosted a crime scene training seminar in early
2009. The seminar was taught by a member of the FBI, Special
Agent L. Robinson.

Clandestine Graves
NJRRK9 Unit participated in a 3-day training seminar on
the techniques of clandestine grave searches and evidence
gathering.
Donna
Hreniuk presented on the use of Cadaver dogs for homicide
and related searches.
The
course was offered by the NJ Somerset County Prosecutor's
Office.

Other
Activities: Laura
LoPresti and Donna Hreniuk gave a demo and spoke about Search
and Rescue to T. Floyd Youth Camp on July 5, 2012. Camp participants
learned a bit about how the dogs work and what to do should
they get lost.

Activities
On
June 23-24, 2012, NJRRK9 Unit hosted a Bob Bailey/Parvene
Farhoody seminar. The seminar was geared toward experienced
handlers/trainers focused on getting the most out of working
dogs. It was a huge success and provided a lot of valuable
information.

Activities: On May 19, 2012, NJRRK9 Unit operated
a booth at the New Jersey Iron Man competition. Activities
like this present a great opportunity for the public to gain
awareness of Search and Rescue resources in New Jersey. Everyone
enjoyed meeting the dogs, too.
